Living in a 13 storey treehouse with a lemonade fountain, a vegetable vaporiser and a mashmallow shooting machine that shoots mashmallows right into your mouth when your hungry would be a lot (and when I say a lot I mean a lot lot lot lot lot lot) of fun (don't you agree?!!) in one day Terry and Andy make a catanery (half cat half cannery,) meet a mermaid/see monster, create a giant banana and have it stolen by a mammoth gorilla.
I recommend for an adult to read this book to a child. No, not because it is complicated! But because the adult would be missing-out!!

Shadow by Michael Morpurgo.
Aman has always needed a friend, then one day a springer spaniel appears in the mouth of his Afghan cave. The dog becomes a great friend, a companion, sort of like a shadow. So that's what Aman calls her. As life is getting more dangerous Aman and his mother start thinking about immigrating. How far will they get? Will shadow help them?
I thought that Shadow was a fantastic book for experienced readers who are about 9-10 years old.

The Beasts of Clawstone Castle, By Eva Ibbotson
Madlyn and Rollo are sent to their uncle George's, but what they don't know is that their uncles property isn't a house! Or that some truly magnificent animals roam around the property. They also don't know that they will soon be traveling for hours with several ghosts to a very remote island to save these beloved animals...
I thought that The Beasts of Clawstone Castle was a funny and adventurous book, what with the one-eyed skeleton, a sawn-in-half girl, a pair of dancing feet and many more funny ghosts! The Beasts of Clawstone Castle is a great book for kids around 7-10 or experienced readers.

Because of Winn-Dixie, By Kate DiCamillo
A young girl called India Opal Buloni goes down to the local supermarket for some groceries...... And comes back with a dog! She names it Winn-Dixie because the supermarket where she finds him is called Winn-Dixie. It's because of Winn-Dixie that India became friends with practically all the neighbourhood. It's because of Winn-Dixie that India dares to ask her dad about her mother who left her as a baby. In fact EVERYTHING that happens this summer is because of Winn-Dixie.
I have to say the book wasn't exactly my favourite book, but I enjoyed it. I think the author could have included more of a problem to make the story more interesting. But overall I recommend reading it because apart from one tiny problem it is a great story.

Blueback by Tim Winton
This is the one of best book that I've ever read! If you are looking for a great book by an amazing author I highly recommend Blueback by Tim Winton. The story is just written sooo well and it completely sucks you in. It feels like you're standing there watching the whole story. The story is about a young boy who has lived by the sea all his life, swimming every day. He meets a fish and plays with it every time he goes snorkelling (which is quite a lot.) But what he really wants is to discover how fish think. So he becomes a marine biologist and travels the world. This is a story about a fish that changed a young boys life.
