The Beasts of Clawstone Castle, By Eva Ibbotson

Madlyn and Rollo are sent to their uncle George's, but what they don't know is that their uncles property isn't a house! Or that some truly magnificent animals roam around the property. They also don't know that they will soon be traveling for hours with several ghosts to a very remote island to save these beloved animals...
I thought that The Beasts of Clawstone Castle was a funny and adventurous book, what with the one-eyed skeleton, a sawn-in-half girl, a pair of dancing feet and many more funny ghosts! The Beasts of Clawstone Castle is a great book for kids around 7-10 or experienced readers.

Because of Winn-Dixie, By Kate DiCamillo

A young girl called India Opal Buloni goes down to the  local  supermarket for some groceries...... And comes back with a dog! She names it Winn-Dixie because the supermarket where she finds him is called Winn-Dixie. It's because of Winn-Dixie that India became friends with practically all the neighbourhood. It's because of Winn-Dixie that India dares to ask her dad about her mother who left her as a baby. In fact EVERYTHING that  happens this summer is because of Winn-Dixie.

I have to say the book wasn't exactly my favourite book, but I enjoyed it. I think the author could have included more of a problem to make the story more interesting. But overall I recommend reading it because apart from one tiny problem it is a great story.
